Born in 1992 in Manaus, Brazil, Klidson "White Bear" Abreu has dedicated his life to martial arts. His journey began at just 3 to 4 years old when his uncle introduced him to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, teaching him on a small mat at home. Those early lessons sparked a passion that would shape the rest of his life.
By the age of 12, Klidson was already competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments throughout Brazil. Years of dedication, discipline, and perseverance led him to earn his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt in 2016. This year marks a decade as a black belt, reflecting a lifetime devoted to learning, competing, and teaching the art.
At 18 years old, Klidson began training and competing in Mixed Martial Arts, launching a professional career that would take him to some of the world's premier organizations. Throughout his MMA career, he has competed in the UFC, PFL, ACA, and BRAVE CF, where he became the BRAVE Light Heavyweight World Champion.
His passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has remained just as strong. Klidson is also an IBJJF World Master Champion and continues to train, compete, and expand his knowledge while sharing his experience with students of all ages and skill levels.
Before relocating permanently to the United States in 2019, Klidson had already spent years traveling internationally to compete in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and professional MMA. Those experiences allowed him to train alongside world-class athletes and develop the well-rounded coaching style he brings to every class today.
As the founder and Head Coach of White Bear MMA in St. Augustine, Florida, Klidson believes martial arts are about far more than winning medals or championships. They are a lifelong journey of building confidence, discipline, resilience, respect, and strong character.
Outside the gym, Klidson is a devoted husband and father who believes martial arts have the power to strengthen not only individuals, but entire families. His goal is to create a welcoming environment where children, adults, beginners, and competitors can all grow together while receiving world-class instruction.
Whether you're stepping onto the mats for the very first time or preparing for your next competition, Coach Klidson is committed to helping every student reach their full potential—both on and off the mats.
